Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church was founded on June 20, 1824.  While we are celebrating the Bicentennial in September, it is important to recognize the exact date of our founding.

Join Richard (Dick) Osborne Ristine, Jr. as he shares stories of the life and times of his father, Dick Ristine, Sr. Richard (Dick) Ristine was an American politician and attorney who served as the lieutenant governor of Indiana from 1961 and 1965. Dick was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana and graduated from Wabash College in 1941 and earned a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School. We’ll gather after services for a light lunch and lecture.

On June 23 there will be a Salad Luncheon immediately following worship. Dick, Jr. will give a presentation on his family in relation to the early history of Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church.  His ancestors (Ristine, Thomson, Osborne) were early settlers in Crawfordsville and elders in the Presbyterian Church.  Dick grew up in Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church and his son, Dan, was a volunteer with the youth when he was a student at Wabash.  The connections of the Ristine family to WAPC are deep and significant.  Please plan to attend the lunch and program on June 23.
